We wrześniu 2015 po 7 latach starań o pozwolenie, solidnych przygotowaniach i długim oczekwianiu na odpowiednie warunki wiatrowe, 7-krotny Mistrz Polski i najbardziej utytułowany polski zawodnik kitesurfingu na świecie Victor Borsuk ujarzmił siły natury na Górze Żar i wykonał efektowne ewolucje freestyle'owe na górnym zbiorniku elektrowni szczytowo-pompowej Porąbka - Żar należącej do PGE. Wyjątkowość tej sytuacji potęguje fakt, iż kitesurfing na Górze Żar uprawiany jest po raz pierwszy i pewnie po raz pierwszy na świecie ktokolwiek pływa na kitesurfingu na czynnym zbiorniku elektrowni, w dodatku na samym szczycie góry. Stąd wiele niewiadomych i ekstremalne warunki: elektrownia działa również podczas samego wyzwania (zasysające podwodne turbiny mogą w każdej chwili ruszyć), nieznane są zupełnie warunki wiatrowe, możliwe są silne prądy wznoszące i turbulencje grożące sytuacjami bardzo nieprzewidywalnymi, a nawet niebezpiecznymi dla kitesurfera. Doświadczenie i umiejętności Victora pozwalają jednak na realizację projektu, z czego powstają przepiękne ujęcia. In September 2015 after 7 years of trying to get a permit, solid preparations and a long waiting on the appropriate wind conditions, 7-times Polish Champion and the most successful Polish man kite rider in the world Victor Borsuk tamed the forces of nature on the Mount Zar and made a spectacular freestyle tricks at the top reservoir of the pumped-storage plant Porabka - Zar belonging to PGE. The uniqueness of the situation is intensified by the fact that the kitesurfing is exercised on the Mount Zar for the very first time, and probably for the first time ever anyone in the world kitesurf on a plant tank, futhermore on the very top of the mountain. Hence many unknowns and extreme conditions: the plant still works during the challenge (sucking underwater turbines may at any time start), wind conditions are completely unknown, there are possible gusts, strong updrafts and turbulences which may cause situations very unpredictable and even dangerous for the kitesurfer. Victor's experience and skills, however, allow to implement the project, what is captured in some really beautiful film scenes.
